Antique Shaving Mug featuring the symbol of the Fraternal Knights Of Tented Maccabees. The Knights of the Maccabees was a fraternal organization formed in 1878 in London Ontario, Canada and was most active in the U.S. in the state of Michigan. The motto of the Knights of
the Maccabees "Astra Castra Numen Lumen" which means "The stars my camp, the Deity my light" surrounds the center tent and figure along with the initials KOTM,

Knights Of Tented Maccabees". This porcelain shaving mug measures 31/2" tall x 3 1/2" in diameter, and has the owner's name lettered in gold. Unfortunately, the gold has worn making most of the name illegible. The gold is worn along the bottom edge of the cup consistent with age and use.  There is slight wear on the Fraternal Knights of the Maccabees symbol, as shown in the photos above. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. Nice collectible fraternal shaving mug.
