    Description

    This type of amplifier goes by many names, often called a Forward Amplifier, Downstream Amplifier, Drop Amplifier, or Pre Amplifier / Pre-amp
    This unit can be powered with a dedicated line, or with a shared signal/power line, via power insertion.
    For CATV applications:
    This amp can help with long drops where heavy attenuation has occurred on the higher frequencies (may also require filters to adjust tilt).
    It can help with amplification in scenarios where the return path is not of concern, or where an unbalanced plant requires only the downstream to be amplified.
    For OTA applications:
    This amp can help with long home-runs where heavy attenuation has occurred on the higher frequencies (may also require filters to adjust tilt).
    It also makes a great antenna pre-amp, as you may install it in series with other amps for customized gain control (i.e. two 'MRA1-15's wired in series produces +30dB gain).
