"Clip Joint"
This nostalgic slice of small town life is entitled "Clip Joint" created by renowned artist Randy Souders. This print is personally hand autographed by the artist (NOT by an 'autopen' or other mechanical device).
This scene features the interior of an old barbershop. Many of these old shops featured items spanning several different eras. Viewers will note the old white enameled Koken barber chair, Victorian era mug rack and wall mirror, pot-bellied stove, shoe shine stand, pressed-tin ceiling and much more. Advertising includes Wildroot and Jeris hair tonics, Klondike Hair rub, Old Gold Cigarettes, Kiwi shoe polish and Coca-Cola. A faceless barber wearing white and brown wing-tip shoes is relaxing in the shoe shine stand reading the latest edition of Police Gazette. In addition, there is a movie theater marquee, and a vintage wooden barber pole to be seen out the front window.
As with all his work, you'll want to look for the artists' trademark "kitty cat." This print will be the perfect addition to any traditional, nostalgic, small town Americana, barber/ shaving collection!
