    Description

    Horst H. Petzschler (1921-2011).  He was a German Luftwaffe Ace during World War II flying the latest models of the Messerschmitts fighters.  Because of a navigational error he landed in Sweden in 1945 and was imprisoned by the Russians as a prisoner of war until 1949. His German military awards included the Iron Cross, 2nd Class, and 1st Class.  After the war he lived in California and later Kansas, where he died.  His signature on a black and white 4" x 6" photo of him, with a Messerschmitts Bf 109 G10/R3.
