LATE 19C OCCUPATIONAL SHAVING MUG - BUTCHER SLAYING A STEER

Superior occupational shaving mug for a BUTCHER. Vividly graphic painted scene with excellent colors and detail. Not your typical butcher mug, this one shows the more brutal aspect of the butcher's occupation. Remember, these mugs were considered status symbols at the local barber shop, where they were kept on constant display in mug racks. The prosperous owner spent a bit extra for this mug back in the day. A rarely seen version. Great mark on base. A nice one.
SIZE: 4″ tall.
CONDITION: Mug is fine, other than an in-making line at the top of the handle. Typical gold leaf wear. As-Is. Please use photos and description to determine condition.
