Rare Antique Air King Portable Pocket Tube AM Radio w/ Black Bakelite Case

Rare Antique 1940’s Air King portable pocket tube #494 AM radio with Black Bakelite case and chrome grill. This is a complete, all original radio in unrestored condition. The Bakelite case in good condition. The interior needs cleaned but is complete but not tested. Please see pictures. I believe there is a tube missing. Look at the last picture. There is a tube cover marked with a yellow circle. If you remove the tube cover the tube is missing. I don't know enough about tubes to find one and plug it in to see if the radio works. The 45v white rectangular battery included is new and cost around .00. The price reflects the cost of the new 45v battery. There is also a new "D" cell battery.
Sold as-is with new batteries. A great collector's piece.
The radio belonged to my deceased father-in-law and his name "Vince" has been etched into the front of the radio. His father bought it for him in the early 1940's just before the war. He was about 12 years old at the time.
