HANS BAUR (b.1897- d.1993) - Was the German
    Fuhrer's
    personal pilot in
Die Fliegerstaffel des Führers as a
Gruppenführer and Generalleutnant of the Police.
During the final days of World War II Hans Baur went to the Fuhrer Bunker in Berlin and tried to convince the Fuhrer to let him be flown out of Berlin. The Fuhrer refused and thanked Baur for his long and faithful service. Baur then attempted to flee Berlin and became prisoner of the Russians until 1955, then died in 1993.
